Paulette Brabender has had her own very successful art business since 1985, painting for Chicago businesses including Nordstroms. Her work has gone international over the years, earning her a large, loyal following. Paulette also studied at the Cleveland Institute of Art with Tom and continues her prolific career. Her first love is watercolor painting, taking advantage of the Gettysburg landscapes and the historic barns on the Gettysburg battlefield, as well as still lifes.
Paulette has become known for her annual Christmas art show, at her custom log home in the woods in Gettysburg. Paulette's hand painted glassware and linens have become popular gift items for all occasions.
Tom Brabender's love for painting and building started around age 5. He was tutored by his father, George, who was a master carpenter. Since those days he has created numerous pieces of art with wood and paint.
Tom studied at the Cleveland Institute of Art & Design, where he earned his Bachelor degree in art education and photography. After his share of teaching high school students the appreciation of art, Tom created his own design business in Chicago. This gave him an insight in developing his own unique style of furniture and airbrush painting.
Since relocating to his wooden haven outside of Gettysburg, Pa., Tom has concentrated on refining his style of art. He does this with cedar, hickory, oak, pine furniture and his own airbrush technique which he incorporates into his woodwork as well as paintings. He combines these woods with vintage reclaimed barn wood to create individual pieces to compliment the wood that nature has provided.
